# Sample 1. Step 22: Open the FlexiLayout in ABBYY FlexiCapture

> Load the exported AFL FlexiLayout into an ABBYY FlexiCapture Document Definition and let the editor create the matching blocks automatically.

Open the FlexiLayout saved in `*.afl` format in ABBYY FlexiCapture.

    Start ABBYY FlexiCapture.

  <Step title="Open or create a project">
    Create a new project or open an existing one.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Open the Document Definition">
    Create a new Document Definition, or open an existing one in the **Document Definition Editor**.

    <Note>
      To open an existing Document Definition, select **Project → Document Definitions...**, select the Document Definition from the list, and click **Edit...**.

  <Step title="Open the Section Properties dialog box">
    In the **Document Definition Editor**, select **View → Properties...**.

  <Step title="Load the AFL file">
    1. Click the **FlexiLayout** tab.
    2. Click **Load...**.
    3. In the **Open** dialog box, select the `*.afl` file.

After you load the FlexiLayout, FlexiCapture creates the required Document Definition blocks automatically. To view the blocks, select **Tools → Match Section**.
