# Sample 1. Step 6: Analyze pre-recognition results and select reference elements

> Analyze pre-recognition results in Sample 1 to choose reliable reference elements: text, barcode, and separator objects found on every test image.

## Analyze the pre-recognition results

View the different object types and images separately. Find the objects that FlexiLayout Studio consistently detected on every test image. These objects can serve as reference elements when searching for fields.

## Choose the reference elements

Across all the test images, you notice the following:

* FlexiLayout Studio consistently detected all the **Text** objects for the field names, and all the **Barcode** and **Separator** objects around the photograph. You can use these as reference elements when searching for the blocks.
* On images 3, 5, and 6, FlexiLayout Studio detected separators that are missing on the other images. You cannot use these as reference elements when searching for the blocks.
* On images 1 and 6, FlexiLayout Studio did not recognize all parts of the photograph as **Picture** objects. Searching only for a **Picture** object will not find the entire photograph, so you need additional methods. These are described in [Step 20](/flexi-capture/fls/tutorial/step20).

Next, create and set up the reference elements, and specify the search constraints for the blocks that correspond to the fields you want to find.
