# Sample 2. Step 1: Create a new project

> Set up the Sample 2 Recipes project in ABBYY FlexiLayout Studio and review the project file, batch folder, and templates folder that are created.

A FlexiLayout Studio project is a set of files that contains all the data for a FlexiLayout.

  <Step title="Create a project folder">
    Create a folder named **Recipes**.

  <Step title="Create a new project">
    Start ABBYY FlexiLayout Studio and select **File → New Project**.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Name and save the project">
    * In the project name field, type **Sample2**.
    * For the project type, select **ABBYY FlexiLayout Project Files** (`*.fsp`).
  </Step>

After you create the project, the **Recipes** folder contains:

* **Sample2.fsp** – Your project file.
* **Sample2Batch** – The default folder where all images added to the batch are stored.
* **Sample2Templates** – The default folder where the FlexiLayout is stored.
