# Changing the Background Color of Form Elements

> Change the background color of individual form elements - text, fields, tables, and groups - on the Background tab of the Element Properties dialog box.

You can change the color of some of the elements while leaving the other elements black and white.

To change the color of some of the elements on the form:

1. On the **Layout** tab of the **Page Properties** dialog box (**Form →** **Page Properties...**), change the form style to color form
2. Change the color of the required elements to gray:
   * [Select the required elements on the form](/flexi-capture/form-designer/select-move-elelments)
   * In the **Element Properties** dialog box in the bottom right corner, click the **Background** tab
   * Clear the **Same as form background** box and click the **Other** field
   * Select a desired background color from the palette
