# Adding a Checkmark Group

> Create checkmark group elements with the **Checkmark Group Creation Wizard**: choose Matrix, Table, or List type, then define questions and answers.

For adding **checkmark group** elements, a **Checkmark Group Creation Wizard** is used.

To open a **Checkmark Group Creation Wizard**, on the [Form Elements](/flexi-capture/form-designer/tool-bars-form-elements) toolbar, select the **Checkmark Group** tool and click in the form. The **Checkmark Group Creation Wizard** will appear.

Creating a **checkmark group** consists of two steps.

At the first step, specify the following options in the **Type** window:

1. Select the type of the checkmark group: **Matrix**, **Table** or **List**.

   <Note>
     When a form description is imported to ABBYY FlexiCapture, **checkmark group** elements of the Matrix and Table types are converted to table element with columns of the checkmark type.
   </Note>
2. From the pictures on the right, choose a checkmark group for the desired type. Checkmark groups differ in the positioning of questions and labels relative to the checkmarks. Yellow rectangles show the positioning of questions, while blue rectangles represent labels.
3. Select the checkmark type: **Square** or **Circle**.
4. Click **Next**.

The **Questions and answers** window will open. The view of the window depends on the checkmark group type specified at the previous step.

For the **Matrix** and **Table** checkmark types, the following options are available:

* The number of questions
* The text of the questions\
  Select the **Add number** option to enumerate questions.
* The number of answers
* The view of answers\
  If the **By list** option is selected, you can specify predefined answers (all answers or some of them) for the questions. The answers in the list must be divided by semicolon.\
  If the **By text** option is selected, you can change the text of the label.
* Select the **Add number** option under the **By text** entry field to enumerate answers.\
  For the **By text** view, numbers will be added to those answers, which are not defined.

For the **List** checkmark type, the following options are available:

* The text of the questions\
  Select the **Add number** option to enumerate questions.
* The text of the answers\
  Select the **Add number** option to enumerate answers.
* For each of the questions, specify the number of answers and the number of columns the answers must be put in.\
  For this, double-click on the corresponding cell and enter the desired value or use the spin box to increase/decrease the value.
* Click the **Add** button to add a question.
* To delete a selected question, use the **Delete** button.

If you wish to return to the previous step, click **Back**.

Once all options are specified, click the **Finish** button. The created checkmark group will appear in the form.

You can change the location of the added element dragging it with a mouse to another place in the form.
