# Editing a Group of Elements

> Edit a group of elements in the Element Properties window: coordinates, size, explanatory text, font, line style, background color, and linked field.

For each **group of elements** the following properties are specified: coordinates, size, line style, background color, and linked field.

You can change the properties of the **group of elements** element in the Element Properties window located in the bottom right corner of the [main window](/flexi-capture/form-designer/main-program-window). The Element Properties window is displayed only if **View →** Element Properties is selected on the main menu.

## Element

**Type** — Group of elements.

**ID** — A unique identifier of the element.

## Position and size

**Left** — Sets the distance you wish between the left edge of the form and the element with no left indent.

**Top** — Sets the distance between the top edge of the form and the element.

**Width** — Sets the width of a **group of elements**.

**Height** — Sets the height of **group of elements**.

## Text

**Text** — Edits the explanatory text for a group of elements.

**Font** — The font used for the text within the element.

To change the font, its size and style (italic, bold, underline, etc.) click the Change ... button and in the Font dialog box that appears, select the required font, font size and style.

**Color** — Selects a text color from the drop-down list for dropout forms or from the palette for color forms.

**Word wrap** — Wraps the lines of the text without breaking words.

## Line

**Width** — Sets line width (ranging from 0.1 mm to 2.5 mm).

**Style** — Sets the style of the line:

* Dashes
* Dots
* Solid

**Color** — Selects a line color from the drop-down list for dropout forms or from the palette for color forms.

## Background

**Same as form background** — Makes the background of the **group of elements** the same color as the background of the form.

**Other** — Selects a background color for the **group of elements** from the drop-down list for dropout forms or from the palette for color forms.

## Linked Field

**Linked field** — By default, whenever you create an element on your form, a field is created within the [document structure](/flexi-capture/form-designer/document-structure) to which this element is linked. To link your element to another field of the same type, select the name of the field from the drop-down list.
