# Deleting an Identifier Element

> When an identifier is no longer needed, select the identifier element and use Delete on the Edit menu or the shortcut menu to remove it from the form.

To delete an **identifier** element:

1. Select the **identifier** element you wish to delete.
2. On the **Edit** menu, select **Delete** (or select the **Delete** item on the shortcut menu).
