# Add an anchor

> Add an anchor to a form with the Anchor tool on the Form Elements toolbar, draw it with the mouse, and switch between black square and corner types.

The size of the anchor is user-defined.

    On the [Form Elements](/flexi-capture/form-designer/tool-bars-form-elements) toolbar, select the **Anchor** tool.

  <Step title="Draw the anchor">
    Click in the form where you want the anchor, hold down the left mouse button, and drag diagonally. A rectangle appears. When you release the mouse, the anchor is placed in the top left corner of the rectangle.

<Tip>
  You can also create an element with a single click: after you select the tool, click in the form where you want the element. The default element size is used. To place several elements of the same type, hold down **Ctrl** and click repeatedly where you want them.

## Change the anchor type

The default anchor for a new form with basic elements is **black square**. To change it to **corner**:
