# Exporting a Form

> Export a finished form from ABBYY FormDesigner to image files, color-separated images, XML Form Definition, PDF, InfoPath, or Adobe Illustrator formats.

After the form has been created, it can be exported to various image formats, images with color separation, a special XML Form Definition format, PDF and InfoPath forms, and into Adobe Illustrator files.

Some export types are available for [published forms](/flexi-capture/form-designer/publish-form) only.

Export to image formats is required for sending the form to a printing shop.

Export to XML Form Definition format creates a file from which ABBYY FlexiCapture can automatically create a Document Definition for the form.
