# Ensuring Machine-Readability

> Check a form for machine-readability in ABBYY FormDesigner, review detected defects such as missing anchors or overlapping elements, and save the report.

You can check your form to make sure it is machine-readable at any moment of the design stage (**Tools →** **Check Form**).

If no errors are detected, you will see a message saying that the check was successful.

If some errors are detected, they will be displayed at the bottom of the window after the check completes.

A report will contain all the defects that may prevent the form from being correctly processed by computer: no anchors, no form identifiers, form elements are too close or overlap form margins, etc.

| **Show Elements** | Shows an element that does not meet the machine-readability requirements. The button becomes available when a report line is selected. |
| **Check Form** | Use this button after you correct the errors to make sure that your form is machine-readable now. |
| **Save Report...** | Save the checking results report into a .TXT file. |
