# Field group

> Field groups bundle related fields in a FlexiCapture Document Definition; configure general properties, group fields, and rule validation in the dialog.

A **field group** bundles related fields in a Document Definition. When you [create a field group](/flexi-capture/templates/create-group-field), it is assigned default properties.

To change a field's properties, right-click it and select **Properties** from the shortcut menu. The properties dialog box has the following tabs:
