Table element

Table elements detect tables of varying structure in FlexiLayout Studio: bind one to a Table block and configure columns, order, header, footer, and rows.

A Table element is used to detect tables of different structures, including tables on financial documents. Additionally, a Table element can be used to detect any data which have a table-like structure. The program will rely on black separator lines and white gaps to look for table cells.

Table are marked with in the FlexiLayout tree.

1. Switch to the FlexiLayout window.
2. Go down the FlexiLayout tree to the nesting level where you wish to create a new element (select SearchElements for the first level).
3. Select the required type of element (FlexiLayout > Add Element > Table).
4. Specify the properties of the element:
   • On the General tab, enter a name for the element and add your comment (optional). Then specify whether the element is optional or required;
     Note. The name of an element must start with a letter or an underscore, which may be followed by letters and/or digits. You cannot use spaces or the following special symbols: ’ . ’, ’ , ’, ’ : ’, ’ - ’, ’ ** ’, ’ / ’. The name of an element must not coincide with any of the reserved words;
   • On the Columns tab, specify the table block bound to the element. Once you have specified the Table block, a list of all the columns of the selected block will appear in the List1 field. For each column, specify its search constraints;
   • On the Order tab, specify the orders in which the columns may occur in the table on the images;
   • On theHeadertab, specify the properties of the header of the table;
   • On theFootertab, specify the properties of the footer of the table;
   • On theRowstab, specify the properties of the rows;
   • On the Search Constraints and Relations tabs, specify the search area for the entire table, including its body, header, and footer;
   • If required, specify additional search relations on the Advanced tab.
