System requirements and installation

Hardware, software, and database requirements for the ABBYY FlexiCapture 12 Reporting Service, plus how to run the setup wizard and verify the install.

System requirements

For Azure SQL S3 and higher pricing tiers, 100 eDTU and larger Elastic Pools and vCore-based databases are required.

Preparing the environment and installation

In an enterprise environment, do not install the ABBYY FlexiCapture 12 Reporting Service on computers hosting ABBYY FlexiCapture Distributed components, as this will slow down the program.

To install the ABBYY FlexiCapture 12 Reporting Service:

1. Run the setup wizard

   Click the Autorun menu item and follow the instructions in the setup wizard.

2. Choose the components to install

   On the feature selection screen, choose whether to install only the Reporting Service (Writing Service checkbox) or also the Data Access component (Reading Service checkbox), which is not installed by default. We recommend installing the Reading Service together with the Writing Service so that both data sorting and uploading are supported.

   Writing Service and Reading Service can also be installed separately, since the amount of data processed by the Reporting services can be very large.

3. Create a database and configure data access

   Once the installation is complete, create a database to store the document-processing data, and configure the Data Access component if you chose to install it. For details, see Configuring the ABBYY FlexiCapture 12 Reporting Service.

Once the Reporting Service is installed:

• The Swagger page becomes available at:
  • http://<ServiceAddress>:8001
  • http://<ServiceAddress>:8002
• In IIS, the following application pools are present and running:
  • FlexiCapture 12 Reporting
  • FlexiCapture 12 Reporting Data Access
• If the Data Access component is installed, the Worker Service is present and running.
