- Dedicated counters for licensed skills — each licensed skill has its own dedicated counter (for example, ABBYY Air Waybill and ABBYY Bill Of Lading).
- Core Cognitive Skills counter — counts pages processed by all unlicensed ABBYY Vantage skills.
- OCR Skill counter — counts pages processed using OCR skills.
- Licensed Skills counter — counts pages processed by trial versions of licensed skills. This lets you process documents using licensed skills whose counters are not part of your license or have run out of pages, so you can try a licensed skill before purchasing it.

When Pages Are Counted
Pages are counted during both design time (modifying Document and Classification skills) and runtime (using any type of skill — Document, Classification, Process, or OCR). Design-time document processing for Document and Classification skills includes:- Importing demo documents into a Document skill
- Importing files into a document set for training Document and Classification skills
- Uploading pages to the Documents section
- Processing documents in transactions
- Uploading documents when using the Try Skill feature
How Pages Are Counted for Process Skills
Process skills contain one or more OCR, Document, Classification, and/or Document Splitter skills (licensed or unlicensed). Pages are counted as follows, depending on the combination:How Pages Are Counted for Document Splitter Skills
A Document Splitter skill is unlicensed. Pages processed by a Document Splitter skill increment the Core Cognitive Skills counter, following the same rules as other unlicensed skills in a Process skill. For more information, see Document Splitter skills in Advanced Designer. Splitting or merging a file into separate documents changes how pages are grouped, not how many pages are counted. Each source page is counted once. If the same Process skill also runs a licensed skill (for example, an Invoice skill) over those pages, the pages increment the licensed skill’s counter instead of the Core Cognitive Skills counter. They are not counted twice. This applies to both ABBYY’s built-in Document Splitter skills and any Document Splitter skills you create in Advanced Designer.A Document Splitter skill never causes a page to be counted twice. When a licensed skill also processes the page, only the licensed skill’s counter increments.
